Youth A Cappella Experience
Sweet Singing Success!
Island Voices has enjoyed welcoming youth guests to join the Chamber Choir in a short-term A Cappella Experience. Not only did these young people have the opportunity to build their musical and vocal skills as apprentice choristers, the rest of Island Voices were inspired and learned from younger colleagues.
One of the inaugural participants reflected, “I felt excited and inspired by the challenge of singing with adult musicians. I believe this experience advanced my music reading and gave me the opportunity to sing with a really impressive choir—I hope I can do it again.”
The Youth A Cappella Experience (YACE) provides an affordable opportunity for young people to build their musical skills. A short time-limited commitment and two back-to-back concerts advocates for musical advancement and supports learning. Island Voices is passionate about supporting high school and extra-curricular music programs—providing opportunity for our young people. Partnerships with music teachers, schools, and ensembles of all types are welcome to bring this unique experience to dedicated young musicians.
